Key responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support to the Transport Workshop Manager and work closely with staff to
optimise quality and productivity.
- Develop and implement maintenance and service programs for the fleet.
- Supervise staff and delegate duties relating to priorities in the workshop. Provide
appropriate instruction feedback.
- Inspect completed jobs/tasks and sign-off before releasing equipment to operational
teams.
- Provide procurement support.
- Identify issues and take immediate action to repair and resolve problems. Attend to
breakdowns as required.
- Train, mentor and develop staff with cultural sensitivity.
- Other duties as directed
Desired candidate profile
SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
- Experience with logging and forestry industry machinery required. This includes
dozers, skidders, log fishers, excavators and loaders.
- Strong work ethic with an ability to lead from the front and strengthen team work.
- Computer literate with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Supervisory experience with attention to detail and safety
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must hold mechanical trade qualifications
