Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tunnel Ventilation Technician with a diploma or certificate in mine ventilation and a minimum of 10 years of practical experience in tunnel ventilation systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of ventilation systems, air quality control, and underground safety standards. This role involves overseeing ventilation systems, ensuring optimal air quality, and implementing safety measures in tunnel environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Ventilation System Management:

Design, install, and maintain tunnel ventilation systems to ensure adequate air flow and control of harmful gases.
Monitor and adjust ventilation parameters to optimize air quality and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of ventilation equipment, including fans, ductwork, and air control devices.
Safety and Compliance:

Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and standards related to tunnel ventilation and underground operations.
Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to mitigate potential hazards.
Maintain accurate records of ventilation system performance, maintenance activities, and safety inspections.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

Provide technical expertise and support for ventilation system issues, including diagnosing and resolving problems.
Collaborate with engineering teams to develop solutions for complex ventilation challenges.
Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and rectify ventilation system malfunctions.
Project Coordination:

Oversee ventilation system installation and upgrades during tunnel construction and rehabilitation projects.
Coordinate with other departments, such as engineering and operations, to ensure seamless integration of ventilation systems into overall mine infrastructure.
Training and Development:

Mentor and train junior technicians and other team members on best practices in tunnel ventilation and safety.
Develop and deliver training programs on ventilation system operation and maintenance.
Documentation and Reporting:

Prepare detailed reports on ventilation system performance, maintenance activities, and safety compliance.
Document and communicate any issues or improvements related to ventilation systems to management

Qualifications:

Diploma or certificate in Mine Ventilation or a related field from a recognized institution or mining conglomerate.
Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in tunnel ventilation and underground mining operations.
In-depth knowledge of ventilation systems, air quality control, and safety regulations.
Proven experience in troubleshooting and maintaining ventilation equipment.
Strong understanding of mine safety standards and procedures.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:

Advanced certification or training in mine ventilation or related disciplines.
Experience with advanced ventilation modeling and simulation software.
Familiarity with local and international mining regulations and standards.
Working Conditions:

Primarily underground work in tunnel environments, with occasional office-based tasks.
May require working in challenging conditions and exposure to noise and dust.
Possible shift work and extended hours during peak project phases.
