Reporting to CEO

The Senior Manager, Road Construction provides strategic leadership, planning, and oversight for all road construction projects. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards while complying with applicable regulations and contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and monitor the performance of all road construction projects
• Review weekly and monthly progress, costs, schedules and productivity
• Approve project execution plans, construction methodologies and major procurement decisions
• Develop and implement the company's road construction strategy.
• Oversee planning, execution, and completion of road and highway projects.
• Lead project managers, engineers, and construction teams.
• Ensure projects meet budget, schedule, quality, and safety objectives.
• Review and approve project plans, resource allocation, and procurement strategies.
• Monitor project performance using key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, environmental requirements, and contract specifications.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, government agencies, and contractors.
• Identify and manage project risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Approve major project expenditures and monitor financial performance.
• Resolve contractual, technical, and operational issues.
• Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and adoption of modern construction technologies.
• Develop and mentor senior staff and succession plans.
• Report project progress and financial performance to executive management and the board

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree is an advantage).Professional Engineer registration (where applicable).15–20 years of experience in road construction, with at least 8–10 years in senior management.Proven experience managing large highway, infrastructure, or road construction projects.Demonstrated can progress from junior positionRequired SkillsStrategic leadership and decision-making.Strong knowledge of road construction methods, materials, and equipment.Project and contract management.Risk management.Excellent negotiation and communication skills.Leadership and people management.Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality management systems.
