Key responsibilities
Purpose of the Role
The Senior Financial Analyst leads the companys financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis, ensuring that all plans and projections are aligned with IFRS 17 financial reporting requirements and tailored to the dynamics of an insurance business.
- Reporting Line
Reports to: Chief Accountant
Works closely with: Chief Accountant, actuarial team, and business units
- Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting (IFRS 17)
Lead the annual budgeting and business planning process using IFRS 17‐based financial
assumptions and structures.
Develop rolling forecasts and multi‐year financial plans reflecting insurance contract
profitability, CSM movements, and cash flows.
Translate actuarial projections into finance‐led planning and performance models.
Performance Analysis & Management Reporting
Analyze actual performance against IFRS 17‐based budgets and forecasts.
Prepare detailed variance analysis, highlighting drivers related to insurance revenue,
claims, expenses, and CSM changes.
Develop management dashboards and KPIs relevant to insurance performance and IFRS
17 metrics.
Strategic & Decision Support
Support strategic initiatives, product pricing, reinsurance decisions, and capital planning
using IFRS 17‐informed analysis.
Prepare financial models, scenario analyses, and stress tests relevant to insurance risk
and profitability.
Provide clear insights and recommendations to senior management and the board.
Data, Models & Process Improvement
Own and continually enhance financial models incorporating IFRS 17 concepts and
insurance cash flow dynamics.
Improve forecast accuracy, analytical depth, and linkage between planning models and
reported financial results.
Work closely with the Chief Accountant to ensure alignment between forecasts,
accounting treatment, and actual results.

Desired candidate profile
Required Qualifications & Experience
Degree in finance, accounting, or related field; professional qualification preferred.
Minimum 3 years experience in financial planning and analysis within the insurance
industry.
Strong working knowledge of IFRS 17 and its impact on financial planning, forecasting,
and performance measurement.
Advanced financial modeling, analytical, and presentation skills.
