Key responsibilities
The Senior Project Manager / Construction Manager will be responsible for the overall management and successful execution of large-scale construction projects, including roadworks, water treatment plants, and pipelines. This senior role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership: Lead and manage large-scale construction projects from initiation through completion, including road, water treatment plant, and pipeline projects.
Planning and Scheduling: Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules, including defining project scope, timelines, and deliverables. Ensure effective coordination of all project activities.
Budget Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure projects are completed within financial constraints. Identify and manage cost-saving opportunities.
Team Management: Supervise and coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers. Provide leadership, direction, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to project goals.
Quality Control: Ensure that all construction work meets project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Implement quality assurance and control measures.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project success. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address and resolve challenges.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and other relevant standards. Conduct regular site inspections and audits.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including clients, government agencies, and community representatives. Provide regular project updates and address any concerns.
Reporting: Prepare and present detailed progress reports, including project status, financials, and key performance indicators, to senior management and stakeholders.
Desired candidate profile
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are preferred.
experience in managing large-scale construction projects, with a proven track record in road construction, water treatment plants, and pipelines.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of construction methods, project management principles, and industry standards. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Leadership: Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in managing diverse teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address and resolve complex project issues and challenges.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and environments, with a flexible and proactive approach.
