Requirements:

• Functional working knowledge of Product Development

o Design Tools: DFMEA, PFMEA, Root Cause Analysis (5 why’s, Fishbone Diagrams, etc.)
o Software Tools: SolidWorks, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, PLM/PDM
o Product Development Gate Process (We utilize a 6 Gate process)
o Ability to establish processes, standard work, and work instructions.
o Capability to compile reports, run Design Reviews, and generate presentations to a specific target audience.
o Mentor less experienced engineers

• Significant experience in the design of automotive or similar components

o PCB design
o Brushless DC Motors – Design and control
 Utilized in Water Pumps, Oil/Hydraulic Pumps, Actuators, etc.
o Sensor design
 Pressure, Temperature, Proximity, Fuel Quality/Type, etc.
o Position sensing and feedback
o CAN bus/LIN bus communication

• Programming skills a plus

o C++, Python, Java, etc.

• Understanding of automotive systems

o OBDII, CAN, LIN, etc.
o Relationships between different systems on a vehicle and their interdependence (e.g., engine, transmission, and fuel system interaction both mechanically as well as electronically between modules).
o ICE (Internal Combustion Engine), HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle), BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle)

• Capability to lead critical development programs while adhering to aggressive timelines and cost requirements.

o Conduct design reviews.
o Communicate clearly and regularly with the internal team.
o Willingness to utilize internal tools such as Sigma Unity (our PLM and Project Management tool), Outlook, and Teams to track the project and capture design critical information.

• Ability to establish product quality and validation requirements.

o Durability, environmental exposure (Salt Spray, Thermal Shock), performance

• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes as they apply to our industry.
