We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Plant Manager to lead the day-to-day
operations of our steel manufacturing facility. Under the general supervision of the Senior
Deputy General Manager, the Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing production

processes, ensuring quality and safety standards, optimizing efficiency, and leading a high-
performing team.

This is a critical leadership position for a hands-on professional with strong operational
knowledge of the steel industry and a passion for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
 Production Management: Lead and oversee all aspects of steel production to ensure timely,
efficient, and high-quality output while meeting established production schedules.
 Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce a safety-first culture. Ensure adherence to all
health, safety, and environmental regulations.
 Process Optimization: Continuously assess and improve production processes to increase
productivity, reduce waste, and control costs.
 Training & Mindset Development: Deliver both classroom and onsite training programs
aimed at shifting mindsets and introducing new operational methodologies, particularly in
furnace and rolling mill operations.
 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Develop and implement comprehensive SOPs for
maintenance and operations, targeting reduced downtime, increased equipment lifespan,
and improved MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) and MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures).
 Technology & Automation: Drive the adoption and implementation of new technologies
and tools to minimize human interference, reduce error rates, and enhance operational
efficiency.
 Staff Management: Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, engineers, and
production staff to drive performance and growth.
 Budgeting & Cost Control: Manage the plant’s budget, monitor expenditures, and
implement cost-effective practices without compromising operational efficiency.

 Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to uphold the highest standards
and ensure products meet customer and industry specifications.
 Maintenance Oversight: Collaborate with the maintenance department to ensure regular
servicing of machinery and equipment to minimize downtime.
 Supply Chain Coordination: Liaise with procurement and supply chain teams to maintain
optimal inventory levels and ensure the timely availability of raw materials and spare parts
 Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, environmental
regulations, and company policies.
 Reporting: Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports on production, safety, quality, and
financial metrics to senior management.
 Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Senior Deputy General
Manager/Executive Management Committee.

Qualifications
 Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Metallurgical Engineering (or related field). A
master’s degree is a plus.
 Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in plant operations, preferably in
the steel industry.
 Proven hands-on experience with Raw Mill and Induction Furnace operations is required.
 Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
 Experience in implementing training programs and operational change management.
 Familiarity with maintenance KPIs like MTTR and MTBF and experience in developing SOPs.
 Solid knowledge of automation tools and technology implementation to reduce human
error.
 Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
 Deep understanding of steel production processes, equipment, and industry standards.
 Competence in budgeting, cost control, and supply chain coordination.
 Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
