Job Responsibilities
 Conducting a thorough eye examination
 Communicating with patient, understanding their visual needs, understanding their clinical history
 Examining the eyes of patients of all ages to detect signs vision defects, injury, disease, or
abnormalities (glaucoma etc). Being aware of signs and symptoms of general health conditions (e.g.
diabetes, cataracts);
 Prescribing and fitting spectacles or contact lenses for correcting vision problems.
 Educating and counsel patients on eye care vision-related matters;
 Should be able to assist in Sales to patients advising and helping them select the right optical frame
and optical lenses, contact lenses as need be.
 Consult and refer patients to an Eye Specialist (Ophthalmologist) for severe cases related to eyes if
needed.
 Assisting and helping sales persons to sell better products and improve their knowledge on optical
lenses and how to sell better to patients.
 Any other duty and responsibility assigned by the management from time to time.

Job Requirements
 Must be qualified Optometrists/ Doctor of Optometry with a Degree in Optometry from a
recognized university.
 Needs to have Work experience of minimum 2 to 3 years as an Optometrist
 GOOD ENGLISH Speaking skills. Should have a good command over both oral and written English.
 Self-Motivated and Confident interested in learning and improving themselves –As there is a vast
opportunity to do so in Kenya.
 Team player and ready to work with the company for a common goal and purpose.
 Should have excellent knowledge and practical experience of using optical instruments such as
Retinoscope, ophthalmoscope, slit lamp, tonometer, fitting of Soft contact lenses etc
 Should be able to detect any signs and symptoms associated with eyes such as Diabetes, Cataract
etc.
 Managerial experience of handling staff, inventory, running of a retail outlet would be an added plus
point.
 Age: 25 – 35 years of age.
 Should be perfect health having no physical ailments or any major health problems.
