Key responsibilities

Diagnose and treat patients with diabetes, including Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Develop personalized treatment plans for patients with diabetes, considering their medical history, lifestyle, and preferences.
Monitor and manage blood glucose levels and other relevant parameters in diabetic patients.
Educate patients about diabetes management, including medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and regular monitoring.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as endocrinologists, dietitians, and diabetes educators, to provide comprehensive care for diabetic patients.
Conduct regular follow-up visits with diabetic patients to assess treatment efficacy and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Provide counseling and support to patients and their families regarding diabetes management and lifestyle changes.
Stay updated on the latest developments in diabetes treatment and management through continuing medical education and professional development activities.
Participate in diabetes screening and prevention programs in the community to promote early detection and intervention.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records of diabetic patients and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives related to diabetes care and outcomes within the healthcare facility.
Adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to discuss complex cases and coordinate care plans.
Collaborate with healthcare administrators and policymakers to advocate for improved diabetes care services and resources.

Desired candidate profile

Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
Valid medical license to practice as a Medical Officer.
Postgraduate qualification or specialization in endocrinology or diabetes management preferred.
Prior experience working in diabetes care or related field is advantageous.
Strong clinical skills and knowledge of diabetes diagnosis, treatment, and management guidelines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient education and counseling.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of diabetes care.
Empathy, compassion, and cultural sensitivity in providing patient-centered care.
Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems and other relevant healthcare technologies.
