The Billing Specialist will be responsible for reading and understanding Provider’s Progress Notes and Medical Terminology to be able to create Claims. Common responsibilities include, but are not limited to, determining what needs to be charged/billed to the insurance and guarantee timely filing. Alert Insurance Department of inconsistencies in diagnosis or billing codes to prevent denials from insurances.

Analyze and study procedures to create claims

Update the tracking sheet

Alert other departments of inconsistencies

Communicate with Doctors and request any missing information in Progress Notes or Medical Records prior to billing
