Key responsibilities
- Design transformer tanks, radiators, conservators, core clamping structures, and other mechanical parts
- Prepare 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOM using CAD tools
- Perform mechanical calculations (stress analysis, load calculation, oil expansion, pressure design)
- Ensure compliance with IEC, IS, ANSI, and related standards
- Coordinate with electrical design, testing, and production teams
- Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost, and reliability
- Support vendor development and review supplier drawings
- Conduct design reviews and resolve production issues
- Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards
- Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and customer interactions
Desired candidate profile
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, etc.)
- Sound knowledge of transformer design principles and material selection
- Understanding of IEC, IS, ANSI, IEEE standards
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects
