Key responsibilities
Programme Strategy & Management
Lead the end-to-end management of Sandbox grants and strategic partnerships.
Manage a portfolio of NGO partners through the grant lifecycle - from scoping and
due diligence to grant closure.
Lead programme planning, field visits, partner reviews, and strategic engagements.
Provide strategic guidance to partners to strengthen programme quality and
organisational resilience.
Grant Management
Lead grant assessments, proposal reviews, budgeting, due diligence, and
recommendation processes.
Ensure timely grant approvals, disbursements, compliance, and documentation.
Prepare investment notes, governance papers, donor updates, and management
presentations.
Coordinate with Finance, Compliance, MEL, and other internal teams to ensure
seamless grant operations.
Monitoring, Learning & Reporting
Review programme performance, financial utilisation, and organisational progress
against agreed outcomes.
Lead portfolio reviews and provide strategic recommendations for grant
continuation, modification, or closure.
Develop high-quality reports, dashboards, presentations, and donor updates.
Capture programme learnings and contribute to knowledge management and
portfolio strategy.
Operational Excellence
Contribute strengthening grant management processes, systems, and operational
efficiencies.
Support driving process improvements, technology adoption, and documentation
standards.
Other Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with NGO partners, donors, consultants, and
ecosystem stakeholders.
Represent Sandbox in external meetings, field visits, convenings, and sector
engagements.
Mentor and support junior team members, fostering collaboration and knowledge
sharing.
Contribute to portfolio strategy, annual planning, and organisational initiatives.
Identify risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and escalate key issues where
required.
Undertake additional responsibilities aligned with organisational priorities.
Desired candidate profile
Qualifications Master’s degree in social work / development studies / public policy / Rural Management /
Sociology or related fields
Experience Minimum 5–7 years of experience in grant-making, programme management, or
philanthropy, preferably within the social development sector.
