Key responsibilities
- **Design of Solar Systems:**
- Oversee the development and design of photovoltaic (PV) or solar thermal systems, including system configuration and electrical design.
- Ensure designs meet project specifications, energy production targets, and applicable codes and standards.
- Conduct site assessments to determine the most efficient and cost-effective solar setup.
- **Cost Estimation:**
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for solar projects, including materials, labor, and time required for completion.
- Analyze data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- **Project Delivery:**
- Lead project planning efforts, including timelines, resources, and workforce requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, other engineers, and contractors to ensure timely and within-budget project execution.
- Manage project documentation, ensuring all necessary permits and approvals are obtained.
- **Commissioning:**
- Oversee the commissioning of solar installations to ensure they meet design specifications, operational requirements, and safety standards.
- Conduct system testing and validation, including performance analysis and troubleshooting.
- **Maintenance:**
- Develop and implement maintenance plans for solar systems to ensure long-term operational efficiency and reliability.
- Provide technical support and training for maintenance personnel.
- Analyze system performance data to identify trends and develop recommendations for system improvements or upgrades.
- **Leadership and Collaboration:**
- Serve as a technical expert in solar energy, advising on best practices and emerging technologies.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, utility companies, and regulatory agencies, to ensure project success.
- **Continuous Learning and Innovation:**
- Stay abreast of technological advancements and regulatory changes in the solar industry.
- Encourage innovation in design and processes to improve project outcomes and cost efficiencies.
