Lead the anesthesia and critical care arm of a new cardiac surgery programmer

Cardio care is launching a cardiac surgery programmer in Abuja, built to international standards and adapted to local realities. We are looking for a Head of Cardiac Anesthesia & Cardiac ICU to lead anesthesia and cardiac critical care for adult and pediatric patients.

This role suits a clinician who wants to build a service. You will shape protocols, train a team and set the clinical standard for a programme that will serve patients who currently travel abroad for heart surgery.

What you will do

• Lead anesthesia for adult and pediatric cardiac surgery (CABG, valve, congenital) and cath lab/structural procedures
• Run post-operative cardiac ICU care, including ventilation, haemodynamic support, and bleeding and coagulation management
• Perform intraoperative and ICU TOE
• Write and implement anesthesia and ICU protocols, checklists and quality indicators
• Train and mentor anaesthesia, ICU nursing and perfusion staff
• Sit on the programme leadership team with cardiac surgery, perfusion and cardiology

Who we are looking forSpecialist qualification in Anaesthesiology (fellowship, MD or equivalent)Proven experience in adult and paediatric cardiac anaesthesia and cardiac ICUIndependent TOE competence (certification preferred)Experience in Egypt or similar MENA cardiac centres preferredA builder's mindset: comfortable with a developing system, patient with teaching, and firm on standardsA commitment of at least 2 years to see the programme established
