Key responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead and execute a group-wide strategy integrating commercial growth and social impact.
  • Drive regional expansion into Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and the broader African market.
  • Identify new investments, partnerships, and revenue streams.
  • Ensure competitive positioning, innovation, and market foresight.
  • Lead long-term strategic planning and enterprise-wide transformation initiatives.

Operational Oversight

  • Supervise all subsidiary CEOs and managers.
  • Establish internal controls, operational systems, and KPIs.
  • Drive digital transformation, automation, and data analytics.
  • Oversee large projects including school expansion, hotel development, farm modernization, and real estate upgrades.
  • Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across all subsidiaries.

Financial Growth & Governance

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Manage P&L across all subsidiaries to maximize shareholder value.
  • Attract investors, manage donor relations, and strengthen financing partnerships.
  • Oversee risk management, internal audit, and compliance systems.
  • Implement strong governance frameworks, anti-corruption policies, and financial controls.

People, Culture & Leadership Development

  • Build a high-performance culture rooted in excellence, accountability, and innovation.
  • Drive recruitment, succession planning, and talent development programs.
  • Promote diversity, gender equity, and youth empowerment.
  • Strengthen staff welfare systems and internal communications.
  • Oversee HR policies including performance management and ethical conduct frameworks.

Stakeholder Engagement & Representation

  • Represent the Group to government, donors, investors, and global partners.
  • Strengthen relationships with philanthropic partners, foundations, and NGOs.
  • Negotiate major contracts, strategic alliances, and joint ventures.
  • Drive public relations, brand visibility, and media engagement.
  • Serve as Group spokesperson where required.

Social Impact & Sustainability

  • Oversee the integration of social value across business operations.
  • Align Group operations with SDGs including girls’ education, climate action, gender equality, and community development.
  • Support Impact Community Foundation in scaling donor programs and fundraising.
  • Ensure environmental sustainability, ESG compliance, and climate resilience practices.
  • Oversee Impact Music’s global positioning as a socially conscious brand.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Crisis and disaster management leadership.
  • Cybersecurity oversight and data governance.
  • Child safeguarding and protection policies for schools and community programs.
  • Whistleblowing, anti-corruption, and ethics compliance systems.
  • Business continuity and succession planning.
  • Oversight of insurance portfolios and legal risk management.
  • Strengthen health, safety, and environmental protection standards.
  • Ensure internal audit independence and reporting to the Board.

Desired candidate profile

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Business, Management, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • PhD or Executive MBA is an added advantage.
  • 10–15 years of senior leadership experience in multi-sector or regional enterprises.
  • Strong understanding of East African markets and sectors such as real estate, education, agriculture, hospitality, entertainment, and social enterprises.
  • Demonstrated experience in investment, scaling enterprises, and P&L management.
  • Experience working with donors, philanthropic partners, and nonprofit governance is a major plus.
