Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed geological investigations to determine the suitability of sites for dam construction.
Analyze geological data, including rock and soil samples, to assess the structural stability and potential hazards of dam sites.
Collaborate with civil engineers, hydrologists, and other stakeholders to design and implement dam projects.
Prepare comprehensive geological reports and present findings to project teams and clients.
Ensure compliance with local and international geological and environmental standards.
Provide expert geological advice and support throughout all phases of dam construction projects.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of geological aspects during and after construction to ensure safety and stability.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Geology or Civil Engineering.
Advanced degrees or certifications in related fields are a plus.
Experience:
Professional Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of total experience in engineering geology.
At least 5 recent years of experience directly related to engineering geology responsibilities.
Proven experience in engineering geology with a focus on dam projects, having successfully worked on at least two dam implementation projects.
In-depth knowledge of Zambian local geology is mandatory.
Past professional experience in Zambia is essential.

This position requires a deep understanding of local geological conditions and previous experience working in Zambia is a non-negotiable requirement at this stage.
