 A post-secondary degree in electrical, electronic or instrumentation and controls
engineering
 3+years of professional electrical and instrumentation engineering experience in an
industrial manufacturing environment, petrochemical industry preferred.
 Able to operate under pressure with an appropriate sense of urgency
 Good written and oral communication skills
 Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Excel)

Responsibilities
 Work with other team members to establish design criteria for projects
 Evaluate vendors' bids and drawings to ensure compliance with customer specifications

Electrical
 Knowledge of electric motors (mainly asynchronous, but also synchronous) and of the
main drives based on power electronic components
 Knowledge of basic principles for sizing and calculation of electric line and choice of
proper protection
 Ability to interpret single-line diagrams and detailed wiring diagrams
 Knowledge of methods of protection for electrical equipment used in hazardous area
(ATEX, IECEx, EACEx, ecc…)

INSTRUMENT
 Knowledge of the instrumentation used for monitoring condition systems in rotating
machines and related auxiliaries
 Familiarity in the drafting and interpretation of documents such as P&ID, Instrument
List, I/O List, Instrument Data Sheet, Hook-Up Drawing, Cable List, C&E Matrix, Control
Narrative, ecc…
 Knowledge of the signal segregation criteria
 Knowledge of methods of protection for instrumental equipment used in hazardous area
(ATEX, IECEx, EACEx, ecc…
 Basic knowledge of the standard API 670
 Basic knowledge of monitoring condition systems Bently Nevada 3500 type
 Basic knowledge of stop and control systems for steam turbines used for driving pumps
(governor e overspeed system)
