Position Overview:
The Divisional Security Manager is responsible for establishing and managing the security operations within a designated division of a poultry company, which may include a feedmill, a hatchery, or a broiler farming unit. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard the assets, people, and operations of the division. The Divisional Security Manager will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure a safe and secure environment, mitigate risks, and protect against potential threats.
Key Responsibilities:
Security Strategy Development: Develop and implement a division-specific security strategy aligned with the company's overall security objectives. Assess potential security risks, vulnerabilities, and threats within the division and create proactive measures to address them.
Policy and Procedure Development: Establish and enforce security policies and procedures tailored to the division's operations. Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices. Continuously review and update policies to adapt to evolving security challenges.
Physical Security Measures: Identify and implement appropriate physical security measures, such as access controls, CCTV systems, alarm systems, perimeter security, and visitor management protocols. Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to install, maintain, and upgrade security infrastructure.
Security Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver security training programs and awareness campaigns to educate employees and contractors within the division on security protocols, emergency procedures, and best practices. Promote a security-conscious culture and ensure compliance with security policies across the division.
Incident Response and Crisis Management: Develop and implement effective incident response and crisis management plans for the division. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders, including emergency services, law enforcement agencies, and company management, to respond to security incidents, mitigate risks, and minimize operational disruptions.
Investigations and Risk Assessments: Conduct internal investigations into security incidents, breaches, or suspected fraudulent activities within the division. Perform risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security gaps and recommend appropriate countermeasures.
Security Vendor Management: Collaborate with security service providers, suppliers, and contractors to ensure the effective delivery of security services within the division. Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and monitor compliance with service level agreements.
Security Reporting and Metrics: Generate regular security reports, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of security measures, identify trends, and communicate security status to senior management. Utilize data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement in security operations.
Liaison and Collaboration: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, including divisional management, human resources, operations teams, and external partners such as law enforcement agencies and industry security networks. Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives to enhance security resilience.
Desired candidate profile
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., security management, criminology, or related discipline).
Proven experience in security management, preferably within the poultry industry or a related field.
Strong knowledge of security principles, practices, and technologies.
Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead and motivate a team.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Proficiency in security-related software and systems.
Certification in security management (e.g., Certified Protection Professional, Certified Security Professional) is a plus.
