Responsible for the day-to-day Underwriting assessment and evaluation of Life and Family
Takaful proposals
 Manage, develop, implement and maintain all Underwriting activities for Life and Family
Takaful, in accordance with established policies and Standard Operating Procedures
 Ensure that all procedures and underwriting guidelines are fully adhered
 Assisting the Manager in products development and documentation for Life and Family
Takaful
 Supporting the Manager in ensuring profitability of Individual Family Takaful line of
business and Life insurance products
 Provide training to subordinates about the product knowledge and underwriting skills of Life
insurance
 Monitor and review teams performance regularly
 Align direct reports on team and individual goals (daily, weekly, monthly) and provide
regular visibility into the progress toward those goals
 Meet customer on a regular basis for achieving sales targets
 Identify opportunities to improve customer/leads conversion and sales team performance by
analyzing data and key performance indicators
 To liaise with specialist such as appointed medical officer, Takaful operator and actuaries for
risk assessments
 To coordinate with Marketing to promote and sale of General life insurance products
 Contributes to Company’s operations by effective coordination with other departments
including areas of claims, policy issue and policy change
 Ensures the maintenance of good customer/agency relationships through sensitive, flexible
and responsive handling of customers/agents’ questions and concerns relating to new business
and underwriting

Bachelor’s degree in Insurance or similar qualification
 Minimum of 8 or more years of experience in the Actuarial and/or insurance field, and 5 years
of Life Insurance Underwriting experience
 At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory role of a Life Insurance Underwriting
 Familiarity with Life Insurance reserve calculation requirements
 Proficiency using computer software such as MS Office 365 is an essential
 Thorough knowledge of life insurance, risk selection and medical terminology, diseases and
conditions
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills
 Capacity to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group
environment
 Demonstrated ability and commitment to consistently delivering exceptional customer service
 Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize
