Key responsibilities
Job Summary:
The CFO is a key executive responsible for overseeing all financial activities and providing strategic financial guidance to the organization. They work closely with the CEO, board of directors, and other senior leadership to ensure the financial health and long-term sustainability of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies and plans to support the company's overall business objectives. Provide insights and recommendations to optimize financial performance.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts to the CEO, board of directors, and other stakeholders. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with department heads to create realistic and achievable financial goals. Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts.
Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks and develop risk mitigation strategies. Maintain a strong system of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Capital Management: Manage the company's capital structure, including raising funds through debt or equity financing, and allocate capital to maximize returns and shareholder value.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company has sufficient liquidity to meet its operational and financial obligations. Optimize cash management strategies.
Investment and Asset Management: Evaluate investment opportunities, manage the company's investment portfolio, and make recommendations for capital allocation and asset utilization.
Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and reporting requirements. Work with auditors and external advisors as needed.
Financial Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the finance and accounting teams. Foster a culture of financial discipline and accountability within the organization.
Mergers and Acquisitions: Participate in due diligence processes for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships. Provide financial analysis and guidance during negotiations and integration.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of the company's overall strategic plan, offering financial insights and recommendations to support growth and profitability.
Stakeholder Communication: Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, lenders, and other financial partners. Communicate financial performance and strategies effectively.
Desired candidate profile
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (CA preferred). Retired person preferable
Supermarket experience
Extensive experience in financial management and leadership roles, with a track record of success.
Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to think strategically and make sound financial decisions.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Knowledge of financial software and tools.
