In depth experience in installing, customizing, maintaining, trouble shooting and
tuning DB2 on z/OS.
Tasks :

• Performs and supervises the design and maintenance of database structures. And

install, design, develop, maintain, and monitor integrated DB2 data-sharing systems that
contain multiple applications.

• Involvement in capacity planning, budgeting, recruiting and inter-action with other

IT departments.

• Developing policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of the database

environment and developing standards for database security. Implementing logical
database design to physical database model.

• Consults application developers and determines database tasks necessary to

support programming initiatives; recommends appropriate application design to achieve
the best design. Provides training and technical assistance to application developers and
assists them in analyzing, debugging, and resolving problems.

• Monitors the production database environment and takes corrective measures to

ensure efficient performance and have extensive skill in analyzing problems and devising
effective solutions.

• Perform backup and recovery, replication/disaster recovery. Creates test database

and application environments. Data extraction and transition between different platforms
and DBMS systems. Designing automation routines to perform DBA tasks.

• Good knowledge in Mainframe security concepts.
• Experience in training junior staff.
• Installation, customization, and configuration of new releases of DB2 in

Development and Production environments.

• Maintenance, tuning and troubleshooting DB2 and application systems.
• Migration of the products between releases and versions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Excellent in written and spoken English

Experience:

• 8 years or more Professional Experience in DB2 for z/OS System Administrator
