Key responsibilities
Job Summary
The Construction Engineer / Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and
monitoring construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in
accordance with approved plans, specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The
role oversees daily site operations, coordinates with contractors and project stakeholders, and ensures
that construction works are executed efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and
workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Management
Plan, coordinate, and supervise day-to-day construction activities.
Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed according to approved schedules and
project requirements.
Assist in project planning, resource allocation, and construction sequencing.
Identify and resolve site issues to minimize delays and maintain project efficiency.
Site Supervision
Supervise contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure quality workmanship.
Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications,
and construction standards.
Monitor labor, equipment, and material utilization to optimize productivity.
Ensure site activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and project
objectives.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, engineering standards, and workplace
health and safety regulations.
Conduct routine safety inspections and promote safe work practices on site.
Monitor construction quality and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Participate in project inspections, testing, and handover activities.
Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, clients, suppliers, and contractors to
facilitate project execution.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
Maintain accurate site records, inspection reports, and project documentation.
Report project risks, delays, and technical issues to Management.
Procurement & Resource Management
Assist in preparing material requirements, quantity estimates, and procurement requests.
Monitor material deliveries and ensure proper storage and utilization of construction resources.
Support cost control initiatives by minimizing waste and monitoring project expenditures.
Other Duties
Provide technical guidance and support to site personnel.
Assist in project commissioning and final handover.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Desired candidate profile
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related engineering
discipline.
Professional registration or licensure is an advantage.
Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction supervision, site engineering, or
project management.
Experience in commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or building construction projects is
preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of construction methods, engineering principles, and building regulations.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and technical specifications.
Excellent project coordination and site management skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Effective communication and leadership skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and project management software.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Performance will be measured based on:
Timely completion of construction activities.
Compliance with project budgets and schedules.
Quality of construction work and adherence to specifications.
Compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Effective supervision of contractors and site personnel.
Accuracy and timeliness of project reports and documentation.
