Key responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities:
To ensure continuous compliance with the requirements of the FIAMLA and FIAML Regulations 2018 (i.e Mauritius AML/CFT laws) subject to the ongoing oversight of the Board and MLRO;
To undertake day-to-day oversight of the program to combat money laundering and terrorism financing;
Regular reporting, including reporting of non-compliance, to the Board and MLRO;
GWMS Ltd already has a comprehensive compliance framework. The CO will be required to ensure the framework complies with prevailing laws at all times, ensure its implementation and to monitor the internal compliance manuals, policies, procedures and systems to combat money laundering and terrorism;
To ensure that the Compliance, Control and AML/CFT Guidelines, the Company and Trust Administration Processes are adhered to and implemented;
To communicate any amendment with respect to AML/CFT framework to all staff;
To review existing and new client files (including CDD reviews for different structures) and perform bank transaction monitoring and AML/CFT checks on entities entering into various agreements to ensure compliance with legislation and Guidelines;
To adhere to company policies on AML/CFT;
To review and propose enhancements to compliance procedures;
To provide periodic refresher courses and/or new compliance training to all staff in line with the FSC Handbook;
To address queries on AML and compliance from other departments of the company;
The FSC conducts annual and random inspection of client files on site and off site. The CO needs to have sufficient maturity, expertise and self-confidence to be able to address the comments and queries of the FSC, working with our administrators who have responsibility for the files being inspected.
To take on any other ad hoc duties pertaining to compliance matters as expected by the Authorities, the board and the MLRO as prescribed from time to time, and to complete same within agreed timeframe.
Desired candidate profile
Key Competencies, Skills/Knowledge
In-depth compliance monitoring methodologies and experience (AML Regulatory Certification is an advantage);
Proactive and dynamic character;
Ability to work under pressure and respect deadlines;
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
A high level of accuracy and attention to details;
Independent and ethical work attitude, with the ability to remain impartial and report all issues relating to non-compliance; and
Good command of English, both written and verbal and strong report writing skills.
