Key Responsibilities
Install, inspect, test and commission commercial refrigeration and cold-kitchen equipment.
Diagnose electrical, mechanical and refrigeration-related faults.
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance as per the maintenance schedule.
Troubleshoot and repair:
Walk-in chillers and freezers
Reach-in chillers and freezers
Under-counter refrigerators
Upright refrigerators and freezers
Display chillers
Blast chillers
Ice machines
Cold rooms
Freezer rooms
Refrigerated preparation counters
Salad preparation counters
Refrigerated work tables
Beverage coolers
Other commercial refrigeration equipment
Check and maintain compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, thermostats, pressure controls, fans and refrigeration circuits.
Identify refrigerant leaks and carry out leak testing and repairs.
Perform refrigerant recovery, vacuuming, charging and pressure testing as required.
Check refrigeration pressures, temperatures, electrical components and system performance.
Troubleshoot electrical components including contactors, relays, capacitors, overloads, thermostats, sensors and control systems.
Replace faulty components and ensure proper equipment operation after repair.
Carry out preventive maintenance and cleaning of condenser and evaporator coils.
Monitor equipment temperature and ensure cold-chain requirements are maintained.
Attend emergency breakdown calls and restore equipment operation as quickly as possible.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, repairs and replaced parts.
Coordinate with the Operations, Kitchen and Facilities teams regarding equipment issues and planned maintenance.
Ensure all work is carried out according to company safety procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards in the work area.
Follow electrical, refrigeration, HSE and food-safety requirements while working in kitchen areas.
Required Technical Skills
The candidate should have practical experience in:
Commercial refrigeration systems
Cold rooms and freezer rooms

Ice-making machines
Refrigerated counters and preparation tables
Compressors and refrigeration circuits
Condensers and evaporators
Refrigerant charging and recovery
Leak detection
Refrigeration pressure testing
Electrical troubleshooting
Temperature controllers and sensors
Preventive and corrective maintenance

Qualifications
ITI / Diploma / Technical Certificate in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Electrical, Mechanical or a related technical field.
Refrigeration & Air Conditioning certification will be an advantage.
Candidates with strong hands-on commercial refrigeration experience may also be considered.
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant hands-on experience in commercial refrigeration / cold-kitchen equipment maintenance.
Experience in restaurants, hotels, catering companies, central kitchens, food production facilities or commercial kitchens is preferred.
UAE/GCC experience will be an advantage.
