The CCTV & Access Control Engineer will be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining state-of-the-art surveillance and access control systems for large mining industries. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and install CCTV systems and access control solutions to meet client specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting of existing security systems.
• Work closely with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless system integration.
• Train clients and end-users on the use of installed CCTV and access control systems.
• Ensure systems meet compliance and security standards.
• Create and maintain accurate project documentation, including schematics, plans, Low level design, High level desgin and service logs.
• Support emergency response teams by providing quick, effective solutions to security system issues.

Required Skills and Expertise:

• Strong knowledge of CCTV technologies, including IP and analog camera systems (AXIS, Avigilon, Bosch, Honeywell)
• Expertise in access control systems from major manufacturers (Honeywell, ProWatch, Gallagher)
• Familiarity with system integration platforms and VMS (Video Management Software) such as Milestone, Genetec, or Avigilon.
• Proficiency in network configurations, including switches, routers, and basic network troubleshooting.
• Understanding of electronic security components such as sensors, relays, and alarm systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for CCTV and access control hardware and software.

Technical Requirements:

• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
• Experience with structured cabling and wiring for CCTV and access control systems.
• Familiarity with software tools for configuring, managing, and troubleshooting security systems.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles related to networked security devices.

• Strong communication and customer service skills for liaising with clients and team members.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in CCTV and access control system engineering.
• Certifications such as CCNA (networking), or relevant manufacturer-specific certifications (e.g., Axis, Hikvision, Honeywell), are a plus.
