Key responsibilities
Maintenance and Repair: Perform scheduled maintenance, calibration, and repairs on Cathlab equipment, including angiography systems, fluoroscopy machines, and cardiac monitors, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Equipment Installation and Upgrades: Coordinate the installation, setup, and configuration of new Cathlab equipment and software upgrades, working closely with vendors and technicians to minimize downtime and disruptions to patient care.
Troubleshooting and Technical Support: Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues with Cathlab equipment and OT devices, promptly resolving malfunctions and minimizing equipment downtime to support uninterrupted clinical procedures.
Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines for medical device safety, performance, and maintenance, including FDA regulations, ISO standards, and hospital policies.
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of Cathlab equipment inventory, including spare parts, consumables, and service contracts, and coordinate procurement activities to ensure adequate stock levels and timely replacements.
Training and Education: Provide training and technical support to healthcare staff, including physicians, nurses, and technicians, on the safe and effective use of Cathlab equipment and OT devices, promoting best practices and adherence to safety protocols.
Documentation and Reporting: Document all maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and repairs in compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory requirements, generating comprehensive reports and logs for internal records and audits.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with Cathlab equipment and OT devices, implementing preventive maintenance measures and participating in risk assessment and management activities as needed.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, surgeons, clinical engineers, and hospital administrators, to address equipment-related issues, support clinical workflows, and optimize patient care outcomes.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in performance improvement initiatives and technology assessments, evaluating new Cathlab equipment technologies and recommending upgrades or replacements to enhance patient care delivery and operational efficiency.
Emergency Response: Provide timely and effective support during emergency situations, such as equipment failures or power outages, ensuring rapid resolution of critical issues and minimal disruption to patient care in Cathlab and OT settings.
Desired candidate profile
Minimum 5 years of experience in Cathlab equipment and Operating Theatre (OT) maintenance.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
Strong technical expertise in diagnosing and resolving equipment issues.
Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance.
Excellent problem-solving and preventive maintenance skills.
Effective documentation and communication abilities.
Experience in inventory management and customer service.
Commitment to continuous learning and adaptability in a dynamic healthcare environment.
