Key Responsibilities
- Nursing Supervision & Operations
Oversee daily nursing operations across all units.
Ensure optimal staffing, delegation, and adherence to care standards.
Conduct nursing rounds, quality spot checks, and manage escalated clinical cases.
- Leadership & Performance Management
Handle staff discipline, attendance, and behavioral issues.
Monitor performance, conduct appraisals, and mentor underperforming staff.
Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Clinical Education & Training
Plan and implement orientation, CME, and skill enhancement programs.
Conduct bedside teaching, case reviews, and simulation drills.
Ensure nurses maintain core competencies and renew certifications.
- Clinical Competency Evaluation
Conduct regular skill assessments and return demonstrations.
Ensure adherence to clinical procedures and documentation standards.
Address skill gaps through targeted coaching and follow-up.
- Documentation & Compliance Oversight
Audit nursing documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Ensure timely handovers, vital recordings, and incident reporting.
Identify and rectify recurring documentation errors.
- Infection Control & Patient Safety
Enforce infection control protocols and monitor compliance.
Support IPC initiatives and participate in safety audits.
Take part in patient safety rounds and incident investigations.
- Mentorship & Professional Role Modelling
Model professionalism, empathy, and ethical practice.
Mentor junior nurses and students in clinical and soft skills.
Guide staff in career advancement and certification planning.
- Quality Assurance & Accreditation Support
Participate in quality audits, indicator reviews, and action plans.
Lead or contribute to quality improvement and accreditation activities.
Desired candidate profile
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing (required); Postgraduate qualification in Nursing Education, Clinical Teaching, or Healthcare Management (preferred).
- Certification: Registration with an appropriate licensing authority; specialty-specific training & certificates for Nurse Specialist are required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hospital nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory
- Skills: Strong leadership, critical thinking, communication, team coordination, and organizational skills.
